THE TWEET

I tweeted a tweet today,
Gave no thought to what I’d say.
Something happened so I reacted,
My thoughts are pure and unredacted.
It was crude and it was shameless,
It matters not for I am blameless.
I did not stop to think or pause,
All that matters is my cause.
I have no interest in your schism,
Its how I do my activism.
This is so much easier than doing,
On my words you’ll all be chewing.

I tweeted a tweet today,
For I am big and I am brave.
In the fight and in the fray,
I know my words will save the day.
I don’t care if you don’t trust us,
What I do I do for justice.
And I don’t care who turns and fights us,
All must know that I am righteous.
what we’re after here is unity,
we don’t want your ambiguity.
All my thoughts are strait liturgic,
Its to nuance I’m allergic.
Though my soul be small and bitter,
It has a voice, thank God for Twitter.

I tweeted a tweet today,
For civil discourse means delay.
It was harsh and it was mean,
But necessary, so I deemed.
I’ve no desire to engage,
I just want to show my rage.
And if you try to shift the blame,
I just have to call you names.
Saving the world is what I’m doing,
It matters not whose life I ruin.
My wit a rapier, my words a saber,
This is how I love my neighbor.

I tweeted a tweet today,
Did it help or did it hinder?
I’ve done my part,
Now back to Tinder.
